Although there haven’t been any events in the Orchard this spring or summer, it’s been a popular place for people to visit on local walks. People have been able to meet in small, socially distanced groups and many have discovered the Orchard for the first time.

We welcome everyone and hope that some will be inspired to join us in helping to manage and maintain this peaceful space.

Children have been busy grafting more apple trees to plant out next year.

Many of the older trees in the cemetery have become diseased and need to be removed for safety reasons. We have been working with the Council and West Jesmond School to raise funds to replant for the future. We hope the children will have a role in planting and looking after the trees.
