We’re delighted that, in spite of the difficulties we’ve had in organising our grafting course this year, thanks to children from West Jesmond Primary Scool and their teacher, there has been some grafting activity in the Orchard. These Y4 pupils showed  a level of skill and patience in tackling the tricky task of taping together a scion and rootstock to create an apple tree of a known variety, that would put many experienced gardeners to shame – and all while working in strict observation of all the rules relating to Covid-19!
